I personally think Oakville is the most awesome sight. I wish the people well there.
On another note, the mystery photo is amazing to me. It gives me the illiusion that it is a water fall. Actually the photo to the left of it shows you that it is the more flat spillway.

Reservoir Coralville |
Mystery Photo. What is it? |
Guess where this was taken from? |
Hwy 70 North of CJ along Cedar |
The Coralville Reservoir Spillway in the upper part of this photo is the Mystery Photo. It's more flat than the vertical illusion in the photo to the right. This is the Iowa River. |
Here is the mystery photo with a link to it's full size photo. It's the Coralville Reservoir Spillway. Look at the photo to the left. The Spillway is in the upper portion of the photo. |
How about on top of the Columbus Jct. water tower. The view is to the NE. That is the City Water works within a levee and the hoop salt and sand shed. Now guess who took it - not me. |

Tyson remained fairly dry compared to the rest of the area. Thanks again Tyson for supplying the water to Columbus Jct. and Columbus City. |

Levee Break West of Oakville |
Lock 17 |
Doug and Jane Boyer East of Oakville |
There is record flooding on the Mississipi River. This is below the mouth of the Iowa River so Keithburg, IL gets the whole works. Keithsburg is in Mercer County, IL. |
There were several breaks in the Iowa River levee West of Oakville. The water also topped the levee in other places. |
Lock and Dam 17 is two miles North of New Boston, IL. The West half of the dam is actually in Louisa County. The lock chamber and gates were under water. |
My niece Jane and her husband Doug's house is surrunded by water. Jon Ball, Jane's Nephew, reported to me that the kitchen floor wasn't wet, however there are lower parts of the house and garage that are probably wet. |

Oakville, Ia looking to the North. Water can be seen flowing over Hwy 99 in the foreground. |
I was awe struck by the vast amount of water in the back ground looking East. That is not the river and it is not a lake (normally). | Tri-Oak Foods is in the foreground. You can see Hwy 99 in the upper right. |

Oakville looking South. In the background with water flowing over it is Hwy 99 to Burlington. |
The airplane is over Lake Odessa lookng NE. In the back ground is a stranded 15 barge tow (white boat) on the Mississippi River. |
Schafer's access has water on some of the lower cabins. |
